Fallen Officer Memorial Service Scheduled for May 14

The Wiggins Police Department invites the community to attend the Fallen Officer Memorial Service for National Police Week on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 4 p.m. at the Wiggins Police Department, located at 303 First Street South in Wiggins, Mississippi.

The service will honor fallen Wiggins police officers Odel Fite, Henry Bond and Brandon Breland, whose names and photos are featured on the memorial billboard in front of the police department.

During the May 5 City of Wiggins Board of Aldermen meeting, Police Chief Hill said the department hopes to see strong community turnout this year, especially for the families of officers who lost their lives in service. Hill said the memorial is one of the hardest moments of the year because families and officers are asked to relive painful losses, but seeing the community present matters.

“Just to look around and see that the city supports them,” Hill said, is part of what makes the day meaningful.

Community members are encouraged to attend and honor the officers who gave their lives in service to the city.
