About WigginsMS.com

This website exists to help Stone County see itself more clearly.

We are a local information and visibility platform built around a simple idea: communities function better when people can easily understand what is happening, why it matters, and how to participate.

This is not just a news site. It is a translation layer for Stone County.

A place where residents can:

  • find local events and community information
  • understand decisions affecting daily life
  • discover businesses, organizations, and programs
  • see what is happening across the county in one place

And a place where local businesses, civic organizations, schools, first responders, and community groups can be seen, connected, and understood.

Vision & Mission

Built on a simple belief: the people of Wiggins and Stone County deserve to feel informed, connected, and celebrated, without having to chase it down themselves.

This platform aims to be the answer to a question every South Mississippi resident has asked: “Where do I find out what’s going on?” It will be the place people check in the morning over coffee, the community table where news, events, and stories are shared honestly and without agenda. It will remind the young people who leave that home is never far away, and it will give local businesses the digital footing they’ve never had access to before.

Stone county is exactly the kind of place where people still care deeply about local life. Neighbors know each other. Church matters. Ball games fill the stands. People stop and talk.

Why We Built It

Stone County is full of people doing meaningful work.

Businesses are serving customers. Volunteers are organizing events. Schools, churches, first responders, and civic groups are creating opportunities for people every day.

But much of that information exists in fragments:

  • scattered Facebook posts
  • word of mouth
  • disconnected pages
  • missed announcements
  • siloed communication

Residents often know something is happening after it already happened.

This site was built to help close that gap.

Our Approach

We believe local information should do more than report what happened.

It should help people understand:

  • why it mattered
  • how it affects the community
  • where they fit into the story of the town

We are interested in the connective tissue of Stone County:

  • local business
  • civic life
  • events
  • culture
  • economic development
  • public meetings
  • community participation

Our role is not to replace local government, organizations, or existing institutions.

Our role is to help connect them.

What We Believe

  • local businesses deserve visibility
  • communities need shared spaces for information
  • trust matters more in the age of AI and digital noise
  • local stories create belonging
  • documentation preserves community memory
  • coordination is infrastructure

Most importantly, we believe small towns are worth documenting with care.

Not just during crisis.
Not just when something goes wrong.
But in the ordinary moments that make a place feel alive.
