Stone County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
Stone County residents will have a free, one-day opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste on Saturday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Stone County Rubbish Collections Site.
Accepted items include things like paint, batteries, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, cleaners, fluorescent bulbs, gasoline, and other household products that should not be poured down drains or thrown in regular trash. This event is for Stone County residents only.
For safety, residents should stay in their vehicles and place items in the trunk, SUV cargo area, or truck bed for collection. Explosive materials, radioactive materials, PCBs, medical waste, 55-gallon drums, and contractor or business waste will not be accepted.
